Possible RB Pickups in Week 5
By: Ativ Patel || 10/10/2020
With Week 4 of the 2020 fantasy football season in the books and Week 5 right around the corner, you might be looking at your roster like in need of an RB like:
Or maybe you're just browsing for new RB prospects? Regardless, with high player turnover due to injury and players missing games due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is prudent to be prepped for the 2020 season's inevitable twists and turns.
Below are my 3 RB waiver pick-ups for Week 5 of the 2020 Fantasy Football Season. They were selected as players that are possible short term value for your roster, but if they can prove themselves, could carve out a starting role or high touches/game. I've personally picked them all up off the waivers in my 12 man .5 PPR league and have them on the bench to see how they perform this week. Here they are:
- Justin Jackson - Running Back - Los Angeles Chargers
Risk Level: Low to mid
Potential Upside Level: Very high
- Rostered in 38% (+33% Last Day) of Yahoo Fantasy leagues as of 10/10/2020
- Coming off of a quadriceps injury
- Played last week with 8 touches and 3 total pts in fantasy .5 PPR league
- Austin Ekeler is injured and placed on IR so Jackson will split snaps with the rookie, Joshua Kelly. Jackson has the opporunity to be the starter and get lot's of touches in Ekelerβs absense.

- Damien Harris - Running Back - New England Patriots
Risk Level: Medium
Potential Upside Level: High
- Rostered in 57% (+31% Last Day) of Yahoo Fantasy leagues as of 10/10/2020
- I rostered Harris before last weeks game and was glad I did given his performance - will still bench him to see how he does another week before looking at him as a flex starter
- Sony Michel is on short term IR so opporunity for lots of touches
- Had 100 yds in 1st game this season last week on 17 attempts
- Will not start him this week given Denver run D and other options
- Risk with so many runnning backs in the picture when Sony is healthy and when Cam gets healthy will be interesting to see how Harris fits in with the gameplan
- Big play potential - 41 yd run last week

- Zack Moss - Running Back - Buffalo Bills
Risk Level: Low to Mid
Potential Upside Level: Very High
- Rostered in 60% (-6% Last Day) of Yahoo Fantasy leagues as of 10/10/2020
- Rookie - 3rd Round Pick in 2020 Draft
- Risk: Has been injured last few games and could get injured again
- Risk: Will be a split backfield with Singletary starting likely
- Zach Moss seems to fall forward similar to Frank Gore style of running but not sure how that will translate to fantasy
